Back to Manchester

Got back to Manchester last night. Friends and family were at the airport. I feel a bit disoriented. Staying in Oldham at Mohib's house at the moment. Going to work on 1st May. Today has been a very busy day for me. I have been to Trafford Centre twice today. Also went to Junaid's house. Then me, Amir and Junaid went to Mohib's house to attend in invitation by Mohib's mum. It's all good baby. Starting to feel at home again. Ordered my XDA Orbit today.

Last few hours

I have been packing my stuff since last night. Quite heart-breaking really! Samdani and Sabbir will come in the afternoon to see me. My Mejofupu and my dad got me two nice shirts. Getting lots of farewell phone calls.

Borrowed Heaven

Right now I’m living in a borrowed heaven. My time in my borrowed heaven is running out soon. For last seven months, life has been excellent to me. I’ve had so many memorable moments- it’s amazing. Now I’m writing this blog- scared about my second innings in UK. First innings had been horrible barring few episodes. Amongst the good experiences- the times I spent with friends, the valuable moments I spent at university and with few relatives. But I have lot of bad memories too-most of them with relatives as well. Hopefully I won’t have any bad memories in my second innings. I gratefully thank the Almighty for giving me such an opportunity to spend some time with my family which I thought wasn’t going to be possible. I also thank the almighty for gifting the kinds of friends I have had over last few years

Oldham

Looks like I’m going to Oldham. Mohib has found me a flat in Oldham. I’ll spend my days in Manchester in there before I start MBA Inshallah. Mohib and Junaid will be at the airport to pick me up.

Shuvo Nababarsha 1414 ! !

It's 'Pohela Baishakh' today. The first day of Bangla New Year. I've had a rather busy and colourful day today. Well most of the City dwellers did. Me along with my friends went to Ramna, Shahbag, Charukala Institute and Dhaka University premises to attend various cultural programmes. Had a great laugh. I have lost my 2nd phone in two months today. Got pickpocketted in the crowd. I'm quite disappointed as my new Sony Ericsson W300i was a great phone. Anyway, I gotta go and buy a new phone tomorrow. My mobile number for Bangladesh will still be the same.

Bangladesh National Museum, Dhaka

Today i went to Bangladesh National Museum in Shahbag, Dhaka. Museum is situated in a four storied building. I started off with the demographic and geographic collections. Then moved on to sculptures, scripts, jewelleries, utensils from ancient civilisations. It was good experience. There was also a section for Bangladesh's liberation war and a library.

Bangladesh on fire again!!

I was one of the pessimistic people about Bangladesh's performance in the super eight stage of ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. First two matches of Bangladesh against Australia and NZ made my belief stronger. But after watching yesterday's game against South Africa I am now convinced that I should never right Bangladesh off before the game. They always seem to bounce back from no where. Ashraful was in his majestic best, Tamim and Aftab's batting showed pure arrogance, and the mighty South Africans lost their way. South Africans not only lost the game, but they lost the number one spot in the world ranking too. Not to mention that the super eights stage is wide open now for all the teams. I am looking forward to see Bangladesh's performance in the next 3 games.

Nandan Park

I went to Nandan Park in Ashulia yesterday along with 5 friends. Rana, Samdani , Salim Shahadat and Sabbir went to there. Nandan Park is an amusement park which famous for its water world. We got there in the afternoon and dived straight into the water. The park has a range of water based amusement facilities. We tried different types of slides, bungi jump, artificial wave and dancing in the rain. There were also a roller coaster and other dry rides which we couldn't go on due to shortage of time. We went on a cable car to have a birds eye view of the park. It was my first time on a cable car. All in all it was a good day out.

Dhaka Zoo

I went to Dhaka Zoo along with my two brothers today. I haven’t been to Dhaka Zoo in about 15 years. It has changed a lot for better. The animals are kept in a lot better condition. The zoo had most of the animals one would like to see in a zoo apart from a giraffe. The zoo are has a massive area. It has a zoological survey institute, a fish aquarium, a zoological museum apart from the animals and the birds. I was almost ecstatic to see the piranha fish in the aquarium. I was also lucky to see a peacockl spreading its feathers. Took a couple of pictures of the pea-foul, but the pictures didn’t come out good as I took them from behind the cages. It’s a really lovely scene to see a peacock spreading the feathers. I’ll never forget the experience. The zoo has a massive collection of animals including tiger, cheetah, leopard, hippo, crocs, zebra, monkeys, rhino, lion, elephant and different kinds of snakes. Dhaka Botanical garden was just next door to the zoo, unfortu
