Ecstatic Bangladesh: Well done Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed !!

Joint forces of Bangladesh Army, Police and RAB arrested at least 12 political leaders in a series of raids in Dhaka early Sunday. The political leaders are from BNP, AL and LDP.The leaders include former home minister Mohammad Nasim, former communications minister Nazmul Huda, former prime minister Khaleda Zia's parliamentary affairs adviser Salahuddin Quader Choudhury, former home minister Mohammad Nasim, former state minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Awami League president Sheikh Hasina's investment adviser Salman F Rahman, former state minister for power Iqbal Hasan Mahmud, former state minister Mir Nasir Uddin, former state minister Amanullah Aman, former deputy minister Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, Pankaj Devnath and former lawmaker ANH Mostafa Kamal popularly known as Lotus Kamal. Former finance minister Saifur Rahman's son Naser Rahman was also arrested.

Bangladeshi people are absolutely ecstatic at the news of the mass arrest of the well known corrupted big shots of the country.

I just hope that the security forces have gathered enough evidence to prove these people guilty. Nobody wants to see these culprits go free again.

Bishwa Ijtema was finished today, I am sure if the Imam knew about this massive arrest operation, he would’ve thanked the almighty for granting Bangladeshis this blessed day. I was in tears when I heard that these culprits were caught. Please, Please Allah, don’t ever let these culprits out of jail. Bangladeshis badly need a corruption free government, let this day be the first day to start the process.

I also hope that, the process of arresting the culprits will continue and the rest of the big shots will be caught soon.

Noy Nombor Bipod Shonket: Film Review

Another venture by renowned Humayun Ahmed. The film is a 100% meaningless movie. But this is not a drawback of the movie. Although the movie is completely meaningless, it does bring a lot of laughter. Good movie to kill idle time. Rating 6 out of 10.

RIP M Saifur Rahman

The country's longest serving finance minister M Saifur Rahman who steered the Bangladesh economy toward a free market path and presided over series of economic reforms died yesterday in a car crash. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s(BNP) one of the worthy politicians was travelling to the capital when his car spun out of control after the driver tried to skirt a cow on the busy Dhaka-Sylhet highway. Instead, it fell into a five-feet deep ditch with the 77-year-old leader tied up under a seat belt. Local people rescued the ailing leader unconscious but he was declared dead as his body was rushed to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital at 3.00pm. He apparently failed to untie his seat belt as he was already in ill health due to prostrate cancer. The United States lauded the late leader's "critical role in improving the lives and bringing prosperity to millions of Bangladeshis by opening Bangladesh's economy and promoting free market reforms". A professiona...
